據報道,近日福特汽車公司準備在其密歇根州，韋恩的密歇根工廠使用太陽能. 而太陽能這一全新的清潔能源也能夠為福特電動車提供動力,其中包括全電動式福特福克斯的裝配。              
    屆時,將有500千瓦左右的太陽能光伏電池板安裝在韋恩工廠,其中高達2000千瓦小時的電力將被儲存起來以滿足近100個家庭一年的使用.
    福特還計劃在工廠建10個電動汽車充電站以便給10 個全電池供電的卡車充電。 

Ford Motor Company is set to go solar at its Michigan Assembly manufacturing plant in Wayne, Michigan. Clean solar electricity will help power the assembly of Ford’s line of electric cars, including the new all-electric Ford Focus.
5oo-kilowatts worth of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels will be installed at the Wayne plant, up to 2,000 kilowatt-hours of which will be kept in a battery storage facility on site, storing enough energy to power 100 homes for a year, reports The Detroit News.
Ford also plans to install 10 electric vehicle charging stations at the plant to charge a fleet of 10 battery-powered trucks.
